Weather

Lanzarote has a warm and mild climate throughout the year, making it a popular sun destination for holidays. With an average annual temperature of about 21ºC, you can enjoy exploring the island and taking a dip in the sea all year round. The island has a subtropical desert climate, characterized by a lack of rain. A small amount of rainfall almost always occurs between the months of December and February. During the summer months, average temperatures in Lanzarote don't usually exceed 30 degrees, making for mild summers with a comfortable level of heat. Even during the winter months, the weather is pleasant, and visitors can expect temperatures to be between 13 and 22 degrees, with an average temperature of 19 degrees. The island is particularly exposed to the trade winds, which blow constantly throughout the year, from the northeast, especially in the afternoon, and the waves generated by these winds are particularly appreciated by surfers. Despite occasional hot spells caused by warm air being drawn directly in from the Sahara, the weather in Lanzarote remains clement all year round and not too hot.
